Taranaki Diocesan School for Girls is an outward-looking, forward-thinking Anglican boarding and day school set in spacious grounds in the heart of Taranaki.
Taranaki Dio, formerly known as St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls, has delivered an exceptional, girl-centred education for girls from Year 9 to Year 13 for more than a century.
Our teaching is student-centred and our curriculum is personalised and flexible, drawing on the natural curiosity and interests of students. Our academic results are testament to the professionalism, expertise and care of our teachers.
At Taranaki Dio, learning and well-being are the cornerstones of each student’s unique programme. Our small class sizes allow every teacher to know every student. Each girl is encouraged to develop her individual talents, interests and ambitions—to discover who she is meant to be.
Ours is a unique, boutique, family-orientated, community with well-being at its heart. We have a commitment to Anglican values and the Positive Education philosophy. We strive to help girls flourish in every aspect of their lives. Success is measured by the way girls carry themselves beyond school: with strong senses of social justice and courageous and resolute spirits.
In our school, all leadership positions are held by girls. Our girls are challenged and supported to achieve their best and develop their full potential in the classroom and beyond. We create opportunities for every girl to take risks, to be courageous and to cultivate friends for life, through providing a breadth and depth of sport, cultural and service activities.
We believe there are no limits to what our girls can achieve.
