Home > Our Dio Life > Houses
Our four school houses create a sense of healthy competition and camaraderie throughout the year, as well as forming vertical form classes for older students to lead and support the younger girls.
Each girl is allocated a house when she enrols at Taranaki Dio. If she has had a connection with the school previously through her sister, mother, grandmother, aunt or other family members previously attending, she can also be placed in that house to continue on the family relationship.
Our houses are also our vertical form classes enabling our older students to provide leadership and support for the younger girls.
A house shield ensures that house competitions are keenly contested with the traditional annual swimming, athletics and house music competitions. These are complemented by other inter house challenges and points are also gained by individuals in houses for their wider involvement in the school.
Houses are named after former principals of the school:
Fleming Red
Roberton Blue
Stanford Yellow
Wilson Green
